This role is a part of our Retirement division

Banner Life is a leader in Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) with over a decade of experience in the industry. The retirement business has grown steadily since its inception in 2015, and we have written over $14 billion in total PRT premium as of year-end 2025. Known for customer service excellence, Banner Life retirement secures the retirement of over 200,000 annuitants annually.

Purpose and Objective

The Transition Data Analyst will assist in the successful installation of newly sold Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) bulk annuity cases by analysing and owning the data workstreams associated with client data and supporting senior members of the PRT Transition Team. The incumbent will play an integral role in delivering a positive first experience to clients and their plan participants and helping position Banner Life in the U.S. PRT marketplace as an elite service provider.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Transition Team members in the installation of new business while being an accountable, process oriented and collaborative team player.
  • Coordinate with clients and their delegate(s) to obtain all necessary annuitant data and resolve any data questions or gaps.
  • Efficiently analyze and cleanse client data utilizing appropriate methods and tools.
  • Ensure data is accurately uploaded onto the appropriate administration system(s); design and conduct testing, utilize problem solving skills to ensure expected results are achieved.
  • Communicate critical data discrepancies to the PRT Pricing Team so the financial impact may be determined and, if required, disclosed to the client.
  • Actively participate in identifying and resolving issues and developing/updating standard processes to install new cases in the most timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Effectively communicate to all appropriate parties, including the client and senior management, to ensure everyone receives all information relevant to transition.
  • Identify and call out risks to ensure mitigating controls are put into place.
  • Support the creation of Annuity Certificates and other key documents, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and manage other project efforts, as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Strong data analytical skills (are you a data wizard? Then we're looking for you!)
  • 3+ years' experience analysing and reconciling data sets across multiple sources.
  • Pension plan administration, retirement benefits, annuity, or financial services experience
  • Understanding of annuities and life insurance products
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and/or university
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerBI with advanced Excel skills required, experience with Python a plus
  • Strong project management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with executive-level individuals, both internal and external
  • Root cause problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions, demonstrating strong attention to detail
  • Experience with process improvement, Continuous Improvement and/or Lean a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to own projects and/or workstreams, driving them to successful completion

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 USD annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The current bonus target for the position is 5% of the base salary with a stretch to twice the target, modified for corporate and individual performance.

This role can be: hybrid located in Frederick, MD; hybrid located in Stamford, CT; or Remote
