POSITON SUMMARY:

Activities include keeping track of surveying, design and construction of railway projects of various sizes and complexities (i.e., track and track switches) in support of the Track Construction and Track Maintenance groups in the Division of Track.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The selected candidate will support engineering activities within the Track Engineering Office and must possess a valid New York State Driver's License. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and construction of railway projects of varying sizes and complexities, with a focus on track work and track switch design in accordance with NYCT standards and procedures. Additional duties include participating in incident investigations, reviewing and developing contract specifications and reports, and providing field technical support through visual inspections and preparation of drawings.

The candidate will also be responsible for creating vendor transmittals, assisting the Assistant Vice President of Track Engineering with analyzing weekly and monthly reports, organizing the department's digital filing system, and helping develop procedures and policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Assistant Transit Management Analyst
  1. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods of analysis, operations research, organization research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program planning or administration, security management; or general administration.


Associate Transit Management Analyst
  1. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of full-time satisfactory professional experience working in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program planning or administration, security management; or general administration; or
  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above.


DESIRED SKILLS:
