Job SummaryThe Transformational Partnership Manager plays an important role within MGB International. This role will be a key member of the initial team that helps structure, launch, and execute MGB's recently developed Transformational Partnership strategy - executing deep, longitudinal (10+ year) partnerships with international partners to bring the best of MGB to transform local healthcare delivery systems across care delivery, education, and research. This strategy will further radiate MGB's mission globally and deliver sustained financial results for MGB and its international partners. The TP Manager is accountable across three core pillars: (1) Transformational Partnership Execution, (2) TP Product Development and (3) Team Leadership. This role sits at the critical intersection of MGB and client teams, organizing and leading day-to-day operations to ensure the Transformational Partnership runs smoothly. International travel and direct engagement with clients in culturally nuanced, complex environments are core expectations of this role.
Essential Functions
-Independently structures complex, ambiguous problems into discrete workstreams, key questions, and analytical plans that guide team execution.
-Ensures analytical rigor across all workstreams, including defining key metrics, overseeing data collection, and validating outputs and assumptions.
-Leads end-to-end project management of a Transformational Partnership from scoping through implementation planning, including leading junior team members and upward management of leaders and SMEs (including structuring workstreams, timelines, approaches, and deliverables).
-Oversees the work of MGB and client Finance analysts responsible for establishing the financial baseline and expected impact of TP over time, which informs partnership deal structure and MGB economics.
-Leverages growing subject matter expertise to make meaningful contributions to client and internal stakeholder discussions; insights demonstrate strategic thinking and a keen understanding of more complex concepts.
-Serves as a key bridge supporting the onboarding of operational leaders and teams as TP shifts from the planning to the operations phase.
-Supports the TP Lead and team as needed with ad hoc analysis and strategic problem-solving to ensure MGB and partner goals and objectives are met when structuring Transformational Partnerships.
-Work closely with the TP Lead and broader MGBI leadership to establish a high-quality, repeatable process for sourcing, structuring, contracting, and executing international Transformational Partnerships, grounded in Transformation best practices.
-Assess resource needs for each TP opportunity and work with the TP Lead and MGBI leadership to ensure that resource availability and expertise align with those needs.
-Serve as the primary point of contact on the ground to gather client and MGB stakeholder feedback on MGB's TP product offering and update the approach iteratively.
-Ensure disciplined adherence to institutional policies, procedures, and governance standards when deploying the TP product offering.
-Forms strong relationships with client partners to strengthen the MGB partner collaboration model and ensure smooth TP delivery.
-Leverages strong client/stakeholder management skills to anticipate, surface, and resolve potential areas of tension or misalignment (internal or external) during TP delivery.
-Illustrates developing leadership capabilities, modeling inclusive, accountable, and mission-driven leadership to cultivate a collaborative, high-performing team.
QualificationsEducation- Bachelor's Degree in related field of study required
- Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
- Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
Experience- 3+ years of experience preferred at a top-tier management consulting firm strongly preferred
- 3+ years of experience preferred working within or with a health system / provider setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Familiarity with Transformation programs and previously worked as an Engagement Manager or Senior Associate on multi-year Transformation project(s).
- Deep experience leading a team or workstream for a Transformation program focused on delivering financial results in a value creation or turnaround scenario.
- Deep understanding of value drivers for hospital/health system Transformation programs and demonstrated track record deploying a playbook to realize this value.
- Demonstrated experience in core consulting skillsets, including structured problem solving, hypothesis-driven analysis, financial modeling, and executive-level communication.
- Proven ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise, and compelling executive-ready materials and recommendations.
- Prior experience operating within a large, matrixed healthcare organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus and drive results through influence rather than direct authority.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills - written and verbal -with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
Working Schedule Requirements:- Ability to travel internationally frequently, approximately 20% travel required.
- Based in Boston area and must be willing to travel to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and MGB main campus in Boston, as well as other international travel to client sites as needed.
