Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Developer to join our dynamic team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for developing Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) training curriculum for US Gov't customers in accordance with program requirements, training standards, and technical data. This role analyzes program requirements, develops training curriculum, delivers requirements, tracks/reports program status, and maintains program files. This position involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance and the ability to work cohesively with cross functional teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reviews and understands training program requirements; reviews the Statement of Work (SOW), Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and program correspondence to determine program requirements.
  • Reviews and understands technical information; reviews technical references, engineering documentation, and industry standards to understand Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) operating and maintenance principles.
  • Develops training curriculum; develops the Training Needs Analysis (TNA), planning documents, schedules, story boards, presentations, lesson guides, examinations, practical exercises, and student records in accordance with the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process.
  • Maintains program records; Maintains files to track program requirements, technical references, developed curriculum, and customer feedback.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in a related field and fifteen or more years experience designing, developing and administering training programs.
  • Technical Writing experience, particularly in an S1000D environment, is highly desired.
  • Must have a complete understanding of division/subsidiary/affiliate product(s) and responsibilities and be able to understand and integrate technical writing source material into a training curriculum.
  • Must possess the ability to: provide leadership; schedule and coordinate multiple work phases; determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level; and have experience demonstrating a basic application of training practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • the ability to develop solutions to a variety of nonroutine problems.
    • strong verbal and written communication and presentations skills to accurately train and report findings to a variety of audiences.
    • strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees.
    • the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
