Division: Bank Operations

Department: Commercial Products

Reports to: Director, Cash Management Revenue & Profitability

Status: Exempt/Officer

Officer: VP
Grade: 13

Salary Range: $96,089 - $177,069

Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

Location: MA, NY, CT, RI, VT

Purpose/Objective:

The Trade Finance Manager is responsible for the planning and strategy of the Trade Services unit and the leadership and oversight of staff responsible for processing and supporting Commercial and Standby Letters of Credit in accordance with International Chamber of Commerce guidelines, internal policies and regulatory standards to minimize risk while delivering accurate and timely service to customers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assess, develop and implement systems and procedures to optimize the Trade Services activity across the institution
  • Train and oversee staff to review and release documentary letters of credit and bank to bank reimbursement authorizations
  • Direct and monitor staff and workflow to support commercial and standby letter of credit transactions including Import and Export LCs
  • Review settlement of trades and reconciliation of client and institution accounts to ensure timely and accurate processing
  • Ensures compliance with International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) guidelines, internal policies, and regulatory standards to minimize risk to the bank while delivering accurate and timely service to customers


Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialist


Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in International Trade Finance Operations
  • Five years' experience leading and developing teams


Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding and application of Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, understanding of complex documents
  • Strong knowledge of systems and procedures
