We are looking to hire a dedicated Trade Compliance Manager to join our team who will support our Legal Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for coordinating all activities involved in export/import regulatory compliance including, but not limited to, ECCN product classifications, harmonized tariff classifications, country of origin determination, product valuation reporting, export license applications, Automated Export System reporting, obtaining and reviewing end use statements for exports, and sanctioned party list screening.
  • Will act as the primary point of contact for all export-related issues to promote compliance with U.S. Government Export Regulations (EAR), U.S. Treasury - Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • Interfaces with internal / external customers, foreign affiliates, distributors, vendors, brokers and carriers to ensure compliance with all applicable import / export regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining internal controls program to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products.
  • Participates in continual improvement process related to Compliance Program and manages document revisions of internal controls and procedures.
  • Conducts annual export and import compliance audits and implements any necessary corrective actions.
  • Responsible for the export of Company products, services, transfers of technical data, employment of foreign nationals and all other U.S. import/export licensing and compliance matters.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of export licensing processes and procedures, training, compliance reviews.
  • Partner with business managers to determine appropriate jurisdiction and classification of products and technologies.
  • Assist Vice President - Legal Affairs in the processing, approval and submission of applications for export/import licenses, commodity jurisdictions, advisory opinions, including Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements, and Distribution Agreements) for U.S. and international operations.
  • Assist Freight Manager with import transactions.
  • Interface with the DDTC and BIS and other U.S. and international government agencies, regarding trade compliance matters and license application support.
  • Update and align export-import directive part number database with freight forwarders and program management team.
  • Reviews new, current and past U.S. Customs import rulings on harmonized codes and schedule B codes by part numbers (piece pats and LRU).
  • Provides annual export/import compliance training to affected Company employees.
  • Maintain End User Certifications.
  • Oversee export compliance of Company's E-3F Subcontract with Air France for the French Air Force and any other foreign military sales.
  • Strong collaboration with sales, purchasing, subcontracting, logistics, and operation functions is required.

Required Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:
  • 2-5 experience within an international aviation and/or aerospace company.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft parts and Barfield GSTE.
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, and highly professional acumen.
