Job Description Summary
The Tooling Specialist will support the Major Correctives and Blade Services organization by helping manage, maintain, and improve the readiness of specialized tooling used for major component exchanges, blade repairs, and other field service activities.

This role will maintain accurate visibility of the tooling fleet, support tooling preparation and shipment to field teams, and spend significant time in the field working directly with technicians and site teams to understand how tooling is being used, identify issues, and drive improvements.

The Tooling Specialist will travel frequently to active job sites to inspect tooling conditions, gather feedback from field teams, troubleshoot tooling concerns, and coordinate repairs or replacement of equipment to ensure tooling remains safe, functional, and ready for deployment.

This is an in-office position to be located in or near Horn Lake, Mississippi, due to the need for regular interaction with tooling and logistics operations in the area. Additionally 60-75% travel is expected.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities
  • Maintain an accurate and active inventory of Major Component Exchange (MCE) and Blade Repair tooling and equipment.
  • Track tooling location, availability, condition, repair status, and readiness for upcoming projects.
  • Assist with preparing, staging, inspecting, and coordinating tooling for shipment to field locations.
  • Help ensure tooling packages are complete, functional, and field-ready prior to deployment.
  • Travel extensively to active wind sites to observe tooling utilization and understand the needs of field teams.
  • Work directly with technicians, site leaders, and project teams to gather feedback regarding tooling performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Identify damaged, missing, worn, or unreliable tooling and coordinate repair, replacement, or refurbishment.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of tooling-related issues impacting field execution.
  • Help establish and maintain preventative maintenance and inspection routines for critical tooling.
  • Support the return, inspection, reconciliation, and repair of tooling following field projects.
  • Identify recurring tooling failures and opportunities to improve tooling design, reliability, standardization, and field readiness.
  • Work with operations, project managers, field teams, logistics, and vendors to support tooling requirements for scheduled work.
  • Maintain accurate records and metrics related to tooling utilization, availability, repairs, losses, and turnaround time.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing tooling-related delays and improving field productivity.
  • Promote safe handling, storage, transportation, inspection, and use of tooling and equipment.


Qualifications

Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in wind energy, industrial maintenance, construction, warehousing, tooling, logistics, automotive, heavy equipment, or a related technical environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 60-75%, including frequent and potentially extended travel to wind sites throughout North America.
  • Valid driver's license.


Preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn specialized wind turbine tooling and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication with the broader operations team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with technicians, operations teams, vendors, and logistics personnel.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse/tooling environments and active wind farm locations.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and inventory tracking systems like Maximo or Oracle.
  • Previous experience working with tools, mechanical equipment, lifting equipment, rigging equipment, or industrial components.
  • Experience with inventory management, material handling, shipping/receiving, or equipment maintenance.
  • Familiarity with wind turbine Major Component Exchange or Blade Repair operations is a plus but not required.


What Success Looks Like

The successful Tooling Specialist will develop a strong understanding of the tooling required to execute Major Component and Blade Repair work and become a trusted connection between the tooling operation and our field teams.

Success means knowing what tooling we have, where it is, what condition it is in, and whether it is ready for the next job.

Just as importantly, this individual will spend significant time alongside our field teams understanding how tooling performs in real-world conditions. They will identify problems, help coordinate solutions, and bring field feedback back into the tooling organization to continuously improve reliability and readiness.

This position is designed as an early career development opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, organization, and a willingness to travel extensively while building a career within wind services and Major Correctives.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,400.00 and $152,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
