The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person.
Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year. The individual selected for this position:- Has a passion for providing authoritative technical advice and guidance for the design or modification of business IT systems.
- Is enthusiastic about interacting with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to determine appropriate products or services required which involves requirements gathering, documenting and analyzing business needs.
- Has as desire for defining product requirements, scope, develops epics/features/user stories and supporting documentation for the development and/or enhancement of business information systems.
- Enjoys applying business process modeling, metrics, tools, techniques and approaches to analyze and evaluate an organization to design and improve processes and performance.
- Is excited about producing quantifiable and qualitative results to identify potential improvements in the way information technology is applied to key business functions.
- Hah a passion for documenting product problems and identifies, assesses and manages product risk and defect activities and recommends process improvements and takes corrective action when problems arise.

Miscellaneous and Program Series 0301.Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 in the Federal service: For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-12.
Specialized experience for this position includes: - Experience working with software developers and end users to perform technical analysis and manage information technology; AND
- Experience creating epics, features, user stories or user requirements for the development of an IT system; AND
- Experience defining solutions for business and technical issues; AND
- Experience of TM XSearch, Expungement & Reexamination, and Register Protection Office processes, or related support functions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
