The
Tire Field Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing field activities related to Toyo products, including product placements, inspections, testing, market research, and reporting, with a focus on supporting field activities around the
Great Lakes area. This role works closely with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Japan R&D to monitor product performance, identify field issues, evaluate market trends, and support product improvement initiatives. The Tire Field Engineer combines technical knowledge, field experience, and strong analytical skills to provide accurate reporting, recommend solutions, and support informed product and business decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Perform product placement in the market, as well as regular inspections of products in the field and provide detailed reports about the inspection results
- Draw conclusions on field inspections and propose next steps
- Carry out research to find problems and develop solutions to resolve field issues
- Scope out market trends and competitors' activities and provide detailed reports
- Plan, schedule, and perform all tire-related testing, to include performance data on existing Toyo products, and prepare final reports
- Present results to management and propose future plans
- Maintain Toyo equipment, products and infrastructures available on site
- Manage and conduct product shipments, installations and product returns
- Use technology for business research to develop new products and services
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and prospects, along with competitive benchmarking
- Work closely with other departments and top management for product decisions, testing and reporting
- Monitor and investigate warranty analyses
- Travel between 30%-50% of the time (domestic and international), including some weekends
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEA minimum of 2 years of experience in the tire industry required. Minimum Associate's Degree in Engineering or Automotive field preferred.
