Third Shift Production Supervisor - Level 1 to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
An organization within Northrop Grumman's, SYNOPTICS is the world-wide leader in the growth, fabrication, and coating of crystalline materials used in laser systems. These "solid-state" laser crystals are used in products ranging from medical lasers to military laser systems.
The Charlotte facility has been operating for over 60 years in the laser industry and has developed the reputation of providing the highest quality products with timely deliveries.
Within the facility, solid-state oxide and fluoride crystals are grown from a high-temperature melt. SYNOPTICS has full optical fabrication capabilities for various plano and spherical geometries. SYNOPTICS serves the photonics and optics industry across the globe.

The Third Shift Production Supervisor responsible for manufacturing operations across Fabrication, Crystal Growth, and Coating, ensuring production priorities are met safely and efficiently. It also requires strong leadership to engage employees, address operational and performance challenges, and build trust across the broader management team.
In this job, you will:- Supervise manufacturing and associated personnel on Third shift for Fabrication areas, Crystal Growth, and Coating, as needed.
- Drive production priorities while maintaining safe and efficient manufacturing operations
- Effectively document and communicate production issues/status to first-shift personnel
- Partner with area supervisors, managers, or other resources to address and solve critical operational and employee performance issues in a timely manner
- Fully understand and properly execute emergency procedures
- Demonstrate the required leadership behaviors to motivate and engage employees and to build trust and confidence among the management team and peers
Basic Qualifications:- Associate degree in a technical or business discipline and 2 plus years of experience
- No clearance required
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors to motivate, engage, and build trust
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
PreferredQualifications: - Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific, or related technical field
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Experience directly supervising a manufacturing operation and personnel
- Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Primary Level Salary Range: $86,800.00 - $130,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
