SummaryA Test Director (TD) shall provide the testing and evaluation of Multi-Engine Fixed-Wing aircraft for the design, development, production, test, and sell-off of simulation training and maintenance training devices. A Test Director builds, leads, and executes integration, test and deployment activities and plans to evaluate program requirements that have been verified and validated prior to customer acceptance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- This position requires the utmost professionalism at all times.
- Participate in all phases of system design, including requirements definition.
- Required to perform duties as the Subject Matter Experts (SME) for their application(s).
- Manages Hardware & software system integration.
- Conducts pre- and post-integration testing of training devices. Lead all test efforts; system tests, acceptance tests, configuration, scheduling, and customer interface.
- Writes test plans, conduct testing, documents results in formal reports.
- Writes, tracks and ensures discrepancy resolution.
- Manages discrepancy review boards with the customer and/or government representatives.
- Monitor and control testing aspects of the program for cost, schedule and technical issues.
- Heavy use of computer systems in an office environment and a secure environment.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:- SECRET security clearance required. Must be eligible for TS/SCI.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both an office and military customer setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (customer users, USAF, USN SMEs)
- Ability to remain calm during tense discussions and be the voice of reason.
- Good analytical skills to assist engineering with identifying and fixing issues; root cause analysis
- Experience interfacing with customers and end users.
- Military Maintenance Lead or Crew Chief experience large multi-engine aircraft.
- Ability to explain technical concerns to customers.
- Ability to lead a team of engineers to achieve schedule and performance goals.
- Self-motivated to address, evaluate, and correct testing concerns.
- Organizational skills and integrity to run a rigorous test program while holding to the contractual requirements
- Ability to work weekends and/or off-shifts as required.
- Ability to travel up to 50% (average).
- 5+ years experience in senior level aircraft maintenance management and/or in training leadership.
Preferred Skills:- Experience with flight control systems, cargo doors operation, landing gear, wheels and brakes, engine and APU systems.
- Military Maintenance Lead or Crew Chief experience, preferably in B747-400/800 series or large multi-engine cargo aircraft (C-17, KC-46, KC-135, E-3, etc.) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, Computer Science, or Engineering degree.
- Experience in use of simulation training devices and products.
- Government Program test experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing long-term business relationships with the customer or end user community.
- Microsoft Office product proficiency is a plus.

- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Work Environment - This is not a remote position. The primary work location is in Arlington, Texas.
- This is required to be a full-time position and is not available to be or become part-time.
- Must be able to travel extensively to CONUS and OCONUS sites for extended periods to support program work.
- Routine travel required supporting site modifications and installs (up to 50%).
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
- Moderate levels of work stress associated with technical, schedule, and customer issues are to be expected with this position.
Physical Demands:- Will be required to sit down for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator and enter simulator cockpit which can include restrictive spaces.
- Extended work hours and occasional 2nd or 3rd shift assignments can be encountered.
