Full Job Description
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Directly responsible for the promotion of Tandem Diabetes products and services within an assigned Territory. Responsible for planning and achievement of sales goals. Identifies potential customers, establishes and develops business relationships to facilitate the sales of Tandem Diabetes' products and services, working within the limits of established policies. Uses industry sales expertise to provide account sales support and continuing education to patients, physicians and their Clinical Educators on the technical use of insulin pump therapy and special considerations related to pump therapy in the marketplace.
This is a remote role however, the territory is Ottawa/Kingston, and the idea candidate will live within the territory and travel to Peterborough as needed.

The TMs at Tandem are also responsible for;
  • Ensures the territory meets or exceeds company goals as established by management.
  • Creatively and resourcefully uses available tools and resources to identify sales leads and gather the information required to determine if prospecting criteria have been satisfied.
  • Provides information in a professional manner to various health care professionals (MDs, RNs, CDEs, RPhs, etc.) in order to convince them to recommend Tandem products/services when indicated in the course of appropriate therapy.
  • Creates value for the health care professionals (HCPs) by differentiating Tandem Diabetes Care products and services.
  • Educates prospects/customers regarding industry/healthcare trends, web-based solutions, Tandem products, services and outcomes, and/or other population health management issues.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent professional relationships with HCPs to support the sale of Tandem Diabetes products /services.
  • Effectively promotes Tandem's unique market position, differentiating from competitors.
  • Leads strategic business planning (i.e. forecasting and developing short term & long term goals and objectives) for assigned Territory.
  • Provides products/services information directly to the consumer/end user via health fairs, conventions or in conjunction with promotions.
  • Attends and participates in all corporate sales training, meetings and assigned conventions and symposia.
  • Keeps records updated in the customer relationship management software (CRM), for all business dealings within assigned territory.
  • Collaborates with Pump Therapy Sales Specialists to identify and address pre and post sales order issues, and sales lead inquiries.
  • Maintains all assigned company property, equipment, records, selling aids and samples in a manner consistent with company policies.
  • Establishes and maintains a territory call cycle that will minimize administrative time and maximize time and effort spent with customers.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly sales reports as requested by Sales Management within required deadlines.
  • Maintains expenses within established corporate guidelines and submits expense reports on a timely basis; exhibits personal integrity in dealing with all allowable business expenditures.
  • Tracks all mileage in the Motus system and submits for reimbursement on a timely basis.
  • Confirms completion of required training plan before assuming job responsibilities.
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/PIPEDA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
  • BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • 3+ years of related industry sales experience; preferably in one or more of the following areas: diabetes, endocrinology, insulin infusion pumps, and managed care.
  • Able to relate effectively with patients, referral sources and health care professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers to resolve issues and answer questions according to company protocols and requirements.
  • Able to assert own ideas and persuade others through effectively consolidating, evaluating, and presenting relevant information.
  • Skilled at promoting team cooperation and a commitment to team success.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace, ever changing market and see change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaigning for it when necessary.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet with CRM software familiarity.
  • Able to travel at least 80% in the assigned territory and work from a remote home office; must maintain valid driver's license and required auto insurance as well as good driving record, per company policy.
  • Ability to travel to the United States for training and business meetings.
  • Ability to travel by car or airplane independently in the field at least 80% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues.


COMPENSATION:

The base pay for this position is C$89,000 - 111,000 annually, with a target earning potential of C$139,000 to 161,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market.
