Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $100,000 depending on experience
This isn't a dispatch desk. You're running the whole operation.
BTC's Rapid City Terminal Manager oversees everything: CDL drivers, heavy equipment operators, various bulk commodities, and direct client relationships.
Gypsum, iron ore, wood chips, aggregates, frac sand, hydrates, molasses. Trucks, loaders, and a mining operation requiring MSHA certification. Client visits, bid reviews, budget planning, and a team that depends on you to keep it all moving. No two days look the same.
The work:- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, including Supervisors, Dispatchers, Drivers, Dock Associates, and Administrative staff.
- Oversee daily terminal operations (dispatch, driver management, and maintenance where applicable) to ensure efficiency, compliance, and safety.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and operating standards.
- Manage budgets, cost control, and procurement to achieve financial and operational targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, shippers, carriers, and vendors.
- Monitor DVIRs and coordinate timely, compliant equipment repairs.
- Partner with Safety to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe workplace.
- Oversee facility upkeep and recommend improvements as needed.
- Identify training needs and support employee development.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need:- 5+ years of transportation or logistics management experience
- 2+ years proven supervisory responsibility
- Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other transportation safety regulations.
- CDL-A preferred
- MSHA Certification (we will train if you're not certified)
- Heavy equipment knowledge preferred
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), dispatch software, and warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred
Education:- High school diploma or equivalent required
Physical Requirements:- Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday
