Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Technology, the Technology Supervisor plans, designs, installs, supervises and maintains the District's technology services (WAN, LAN, Internet, Intranet, student and staff data management, distance learning, wireless security, backup systems, as well as general hardware and software); plans and installs network cabling; analyzes local area and wide area network traffic; provides network user support and assistance.
Requirements / Qualifications - Four (4) years of experience as a network systems administrator as well as hands-on experience in installing, configuring and maintaining personal computers and networking systems, including software and hardware and infrastructure.
- Bachelors' Degree in job-related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification in industry-leading systems preferred.
- Valid Driver's License

Comments and Other InformationExamination process: Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in the following examinations: Performance Test, weight: 40%, and Qualifications Appraisal Interview, weight: 60%.
The competitive basis for this recruitment is Open/Promotional. Applicants who pass the exams are placed on an eligibility list in rank order by their overall exam score. There is a priority "promo" list for permanent employees of the district, and another "open" list for external candidates. The lists are in effect for six months and are used to fill current and future vacancies. The "promo" list is used first, and, if exhausted, the "open" list is used.
Veterans may be eligible for preference points on examinations. Entrance is defined as candidates who are not current employees of the District. Please attach a copy of your DD214 to your application.
Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance.
The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service, whichever is longer.
