Director of Technology Services

Department: Technology Job Status: Full Time

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent Contract Days: 240

Position Summary

The Benton School District is seeking an experienced, innovative, and service-oriented leader to serve as Director of Technology Services. This position provides strategic leadership and oversight of the district's technology department while ensuring technology systems effectively support student learning, district operations, and school safety. The successful candidate will lead and develop an effective technology team while fostering a culture of accountability, organization, efficiency, customer service, and continuous improvement. The Director also serves as the District Webmaster and oversees the district's digital presence.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and evaluation of Technology Department staff.
  • Develop a highly organized, efficient, and customer-focused technology department.
  • Lead district technology planning and implementation.
  • Oversee networks, servers, cybersecurity, telephones, devices, and instructional technology.
  • Develop and manage the technology budget.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, and equipment replacement.
  • Serve as District Webmaster and oversee the district website, ensuring content is accurate, current, accessible, and ADA compliant.
  • Support district communication platforms used for school and district information.
  • Develop technology procedures that improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Collaborate with administrators to identify and meet technology needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships and technology contracts.
  • Develop disaster recovery and cybersecurity plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of leadership experience.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing budgets.
  • K-12 technology leadership experience preferred.
