DescriptionLee County Utilities is looking for a SCADA and Automation Technician, Senior to join our team. In this role, you will help make sure our water and wastewater systems run safely, reliably, and smoothly. You will work with important computer systems, electronics, and equipment that help monitor and control pumps, tanks, and treatment processes across the county.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesWhat You Will Do:- Help support and maintain the Utility's SCADA (computer control) systems
- Work with PLCs, radios, communication equipment, and control panels
- Assist with programming, testing, and troubleshooting equipment
- Monitor system operations and fix issues when needed
- Help keep our communication network running (WAN/LAN systems)
- Maintain logs, records, and daily activity reports
- Follow safety rules when working with electrical systems and equipment
- Work with a team to keep water and wastewater facilities operating correctly
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Education, Experience, LicensingWhat We're Looking For- High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Four (4) years of related hands-on experience, such as:
- Electrical or electronic work
- Industrial controls or automation
- Water or wastewater utilities
- Instrumentation or relay-logic systems
- Network or communication equipment
- SCADA or PLC systems
- Any similar technical or mechanical job working with tools, machines, or computer-based equipment
- Ability to work safely and follow all procedures in a safety-sensitive role
Licensing Requirements- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred:- Experience working with SCADA, PLCs, or industrial computers
- Experience using testing equipment, hand tools, or electrical tools
- Previous work with utility systems, pumps, motors, or control panels
Extra Skills- Able to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely
- Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and around electrical systems
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Able to solve basic technical or equipment issues
Supplemental InformationWork Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM.
