Job Description:Quevera is seeking a
Technical Writer II with an active
TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in
Ft. Meade, Maryland. In this role, you will work alongside software engineers, system administrators, and technical subject matter experts to develop and maintain high-quality documentation supporting enterprise software, systems engineering, and operational capabilities.
As a Technical Writer II, you will create, review, and maintain technical documentation throughout the system lifecycle, including installation guides, configuration documentation, operational procedures, user manuals, and software documentation. You'll collaborate with engineering teams to transform complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that supports mission success while ensuring documentation remains current, organized, and accessible.
Job Responsibilities:- Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documentation supporting software engineering, systems engineering, system operations, testing, and end-user documentation.
- Develop and maintain installation guides, configuration documentation, user guides, operational manuals, and technical reference materials.
- Create and edit documentation for project hardware and software systems throughout the development lifecycle.
- Produce software documentation, procedures, implementation guides, and end-user documentation supporting enterprise capabilities.
- Develop field definitions, data definitions, and data flow documentation for technical systems.
- Format and publish technical documentation using appropriate documentation standards and tools.
- Gather technical information from engineers, developers, subject matter experts, engineering documentation, and other technical resources.
- Research complex technical topics and organize information into documentation that is accurate, concise, and easily understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
- Coordinate the layout and organization of technical publications, operational documentation, user guides, and manuals.
- Maintain and organize internal documentation libraries to ensure technical documentation remains current and accessible.
- Collaborate with development teams to produce quality documentation and training materials.
- Assist in providing training to users utilizing developed technical documentation and instructional materials.
- Prepare technical reports, responses, briefings, and documentation for a variety of audiences.
Minimum Requirements:- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) additional years of Technical Writer experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation for software, systems engineering, or operational environments.
- Experience working with software developers, engineers, and technical subject matter experts to gather and document technical information.
- Strong technical writing, editing, and organizational skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience creating user guides, operational documentation, technical manuals, installation guides, and software documentation.
Desired Skills:- Experience using documentation and presentation tools such as Adobe Captivate, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Visio.
- Experience maintaining technical documentation libraries and documentation repositories.
- Experience developing training materials and end-user documentation.
- Experience documenting software systems, engineering processes, and operational procedures.
- Experience creating technical reports, responses, and presentations for multiple audiences.
- Ability to research technical subject matter and synthesize information from multiple engineering sources into clear, well-organized documentation.
