Technical Value Management (TVM) Engineer - ICE Powertrain Cost Reduction

Overview

We are seeking a Technical Value Management (TVM) Engineer to support cost reduction initiatives across Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) powertrain systems. This role partners with engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement engineering changes that deliver measurable product cost savings. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in powertrain systems with project coordination, data analysis, and value engineering to drive cost optimization initiatives from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and implement cost-saving opportunities across ICE powertrain systems.
  • Support annual Technical Value Management (TVM) cost reduction objectives.
  • Evaluate design, material, manufacturing, and supplier cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develop business cases and technical justifications for proposed engineering changes.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple vehicle and powertrain programs.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and drive action item completion.
  • Maintain implementation schedules, work plans, and savings forecasts.
  • Analyze engineering and cost data to support decision-making.
  • Prepare leadership reports, presentations, and implementation summaries.
  • Track savings realization and support financial validation activities.
  • Support continuous improvement and value engineering process development.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of automotive engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting cost reduction, value engineering, or product optimization initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong project coordination and execution skills.
  • Experience analyzing engineering and cost data.
  • Experience developing and implementing engineering changes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Experience using AI-enabled analytical tools.
