Full Job Description
WEC Business Services LLC, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Technical Training Specialist in our Mundelein, Illinois or Chicago, Illinois location.

This position is part of a job family (Technical Training & Methods Specialist, Senior Technical Training & Methods Specialist, Principal Technical Training & Methods Specialist) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

Provides support for the development, coordination, and delivery of technical and non-technical training programs, including assisting with instructional materials, LMS administration, and Operator Qualification (OQ) activities. Conducts and/or supports training sessions, evaluations, field observations, and recordkeeping to promote safety, operational compliance, and workforce development. Identifies opportunities to improve training materials, delivery methods, and overall program effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support development and delivery of technical and non-technical training
  • Assist in creating learning objectives and training materials
  • Gather and organize technical documentation for training use
  • Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) administration
  • Apply basic instructional methods in classroom and field settings
  • Conduct training sessions and/or assist with OQ evaluations
  • Support administration of Operator Qualification (OQ) evaluations
  • Conduct field observations for safety and operational compliance
  • Maintain training and OQ documentation and records
  • Stay informed on basic industry practices, standards, and procedures
  • Identify improvement opportunities in training materials and delivery


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. In lieu of degree, a minimum of 3 years of experience in utility operations or technical training is required
  • 2 years utility operations, construction, or adult technical instruction
  • Core Skills

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
    • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
    • Organizational and time management skills
    • Developing project coordination skills
    • Basic proficiency in standard software (e.g., MS Office)

    • Introductory understanding of adult learning principles
  • Valid driver's license

Pay Range Minimum: $78,702.26

Pay Range Maximum: $156,125.32

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
