Full Job Description
We have an opportunity for a Technical Trainer - Municipal to join our Kansas City, KS team. You will lead technical training and channel management communications, ensuring effective communication among channel partners, delivering technical training, and supporting consistent messaging, engagement, and channel performance. You will: • Deliver engaging, hands-on technical training that advances understanding of Pentair's Municipal products, technology, applications, and brand, with emphasis on Ashland and Kansas City portfolios. • Develop and facilitate training for internal teams, sales, application engineering, service, distribution partners, contractors, engineers, operators, and municipal customers. • Translate complex technical concepts into practical, field-ready learning experiences focused on product application, installation, troubleshooting, service, maintenance, and customer support. • Work closely with product management, sales, application engineering, customer service, service and warranty, engineering, marketing, and operations teams to develop and execute training content aligned to municipal market needs. • Create and maintain training materials, handouts, job aids, presentations, and hands-on demonstrations that support municipal water and wastewater products and applications. • Partner with Ashland and Kansas City teams to ensure training content reflects current product standards, customer requirements, field feedback, and business priorities. • Maintain and continuously improve classroom, lab, and field-based training experiences, including setup, equipment readiness, participant information, and training documentation. • Ensure alignment, consistency, and brand message by collaborating across the Municipal training, sales, product, engineering, and service teams. • Develop and manage consistent communications with channel partners to support alignment, engagement, performance visibility, and effective execution of channel priorities. • Make field visits as required to support product issues, customer needs, application questions, and training development opportunities. • Gather voice-of-customer and field feedback to help improve training content, product knowledge, service support, and the overall customer experience. Key Qualifications: • Preference for a bachelor's (B.A. or B.S.) degree, with a preference for degrees related to education or leadership & development or 4 years of instructing experience. • Strong technical aptitude with municipal water and wastewater products, pumps, rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, mechanical systems, or related industrial equipment. • Ability to understand product specifications, application requirements, installation considerations, troubleshooting needs, and service practices. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Have experience with Public Speaking and/or large audience customer presentations. • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple training priorities, updating materials, and meeting deadlines. • Ability to travel overnight across the United States 60-70% to support customer training, field visits, internal team development, trade shows, and business needs. • We must be able to work on a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, with longer hours at times to support business and training demands. Compensation: For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $82300 - $152800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
