Job Summary:
The Microbiology-Molecular Supervisor is a self-motivator with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the clinical setting. The person must have compassion for patients and be able to strongly represent the hospital mission. The person must provide a supervisory role for the Microbiology Department which includes molecular testing. The person will also perform bench work and phlebotomy as necessary.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Microbiology-Molecular Supervisor must work independently and have a high level of training in the Microbiology and Molecular Department. The person maintains a quality control program, maintenance and instrumentation for the department. A department manual must be maintain and written to ensure regulatory requirement are met. The Supervisor will train new employees in the department and work directly with the staff to ensure all results meet the highest laboratory standards. The person will perform daily laboratory testing and perform phlebotomy as necessary.
Education: Four year college (Bachelor's Degree)
Experience: 5-10 Years
Certification: MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) Must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Comp Range:
$33.43 - $46.04
