Title: Technical Services Manager
Reports To: Senior Manager, Technical Services
Location: Houston, TX
Department: Technical Services Team

What You'll Do:
The Technical Services Manager will support the technical management of Triton's assets and container fleet across North America, ensuring equipment repairs, depot operations, and maintenance practices meet Triton's technical, operations, and cost standards. Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage and analyze maintenance and repair costs across dry, refrigerated, special, tank, and chassis equipment, identifying opportunities to reduce operating costs.
  • Oversee depot repair estimates to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion in accordance with Triton and IICL standards.
  • Monitor depot performance, including M&R cycle times, average repair costs, estimate accuracy, quality, and service levels.
  • Conduct regular depot audits and equipment inspections and work closely with third-party surveyors and inspection partners to ensure compliance with Triton standards.
  • Manage relationships with depot vendors and third-party service providers, including service performance, pricing, rate negotiations, and resolution of operational issues.
  • Resolve technical disputes involving Triton, customers, depots, and third-party providers and identify opportunities to prevent recurring issues.
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers and internal teams, including Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Triton Container Sales.
  • Support the onboarding, training, review, and ongoing management of new and existing depot vendors.
  • Implement and communicate Triton's maintenance and repair policies, technical standards, procedures, and bulletins throughout the assigned region.
  • Partner with senior management on equipment disposition and repair-versus-sale decisions within TriFleet.
  • Gather and communicate relevant market, depot, and competitive information to support operational and business decisions.
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned region to support depot operations, audits, inspections, and vendor relationships.

What We're Looking For:
  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in container maintenance, repair, surveying, depot operations, or technical services, including experience with dry and refrigerated equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of container construction, repair methodologies, maintenance standards, and components.
  • Knowledge of IICL estimate and repair guidelines for dry vans, dry specials, and refrigerated containers.
  • Experience working with container depots, third-party vendors, surveyors, and inspection providers strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze maintenance and repair costs, manage vendor performance, and identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and dispute-resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and effectively utilize Triton systems and reporting tools.
  • Spanish-speaking capability preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25-35%, including occasional travel on short notice.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when reasonably required.
  • Must be able to work on-site four days per week (Monday - Thursday) in accordance with Triton's hybrid work model to support effective collaboration and business operations.
  • Must be at a commutable distance (within 50 miles) to the Houston office.
