We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to grow our presence. In this role, you will drive sales by developing new opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and representing RBR as a trusted partner. You will connect researchers and organizations with advanced technology that supports important oceanographic and environmental research.
This role is ideal for someone motivated by achieving results, building long-term partnerships, and creating tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
What you'll do- Present and promote RBR instruments to scientific and technical users
- Develop and maintain a strong client portfolio (research institutes, universities, environmental engineering firms, etc.)
- Expand, nurture, and retain customer relationships
- Grow and manage the customer base, ensuring long-term partnerships
- Identify, develop, and sustain business opportunities
- Prepare commercial offers and respond to tenders
- Identify new market opportunities and prospects within oceanography and environmental sciences
- Represent the RBR brand and values at conferences, trade shows, and workshops, showcasing our innovative solutions and expertise.
What you bring- A degree in sciences or engineering (BSc, MSc, or PhD) or equivalent experience in high-level technical sales
- Ideally, 5+ years of technical sales experience, preferably in oceanographic, marine geophysics, or related scientific instrumentation fields
- Proven ability to work directly with academic institutions, government agencies, and private organizations
- Experience collaborating with end customers and through local agents to deliver exceptional sales results
- A customer-focused mindset paired with a sense of urgency, passion, and purpose
- A talent for finding better ways, for customers and for RBR, through innovative thinking and problem-solving
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills that inspire trust and foster lasting partnerships
- Readiness to travel 25-50% within North America, primarily in Eastern Canada and the United States
Nice to have- Experience in ocean technology and measurement
- Degree in Oceanography or a related field
- Familiarity with CRM systems; Salesforce experience is a plus
