Technical Project Manager

Project Manager I

UST is seeking a highly technical and hands-on Technical Project Manager to lead a team in managing end-to-end networking upgrades for one of the leading healthcare providers in the US.

The opportunity:
• Project Leadership and Execution:
• Lead and manage the networking upgrade team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Develop detailed project plans for networking upgrades, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, and ensure successful execution.
• Utilize your technical background to understand project requirements and provide technical guidance to the team. Work as a hands-on technologist when needed, applying technical skills and experience in the development and delivery of upgrade solutions following established methodologies, processes, and practices.
• Technical Expertise and Impact Assessment:
• Plan and manage networking upgrades, including data at rest and in motion encryption, DB2 hardware upgrades, and sandbox refactoring.
• Assess the impact of upgrades on existing systems and processes, and develop strategies to mitigate any negative effects.
• Provide technical expertise in database upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
• Stakeholder and Risk Management:
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and senior management, to ensure project alignment and transparency.
• Collaborate effectively with interfacing projects, navigating solutions to issues with a win-win approach. Maintain positive and constructive working relationships with all stakeholders.
• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:

• Experience in the healthcare industry, including knowledge of medical and prescription claims processing, healthcare enrollments, and provider operations.
• Experience in managing projects with multiple release streams, including soliciting business priorities, organizing scope into releases, building roadmaps, managing scope changes, and communicating with leadership and technical teams.
• Experience in managing projects that handle PHI (Protected Health Information) and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and sensitive data.
• Experience managing technical estimates, including estimation planning and managing the technical team to deliver estimates.
• Experience in building a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for project/program technical delivery improvements, including process improvements, quality management improvements, knowledge sharing/management improvements, collaboration tool improvements, and program reporting tool improvements.
• Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics tools such as Cognos or Tableau.
• Awareness of security standards in data handling.
• Educational Qualifications:
• Preferred: master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Required: bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote-US

Compensation Range: $88,000-$132,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
