Full Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, custom manufacturing programs within a fast-paced hardware environment. The Technical Program Manager will play a critical role in owning end-to-end delivery across engineering and manufacturing teams, while navigating shifting priorities and high-touch customer engagements in a dynamic, high-pressure setting. The Technical Program Manager will be full-time and sit on site in RTP, NC.

Responsibilities of the Technical Program Manager:
  • Drive full lifecycle program execution for complex hardware product development initiatives, from concept through production
  • Serve as the primary liaison for customers, ensuring clear communication on timelines, specifications, and program status
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to maintain alignment and execution velocity
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and risks while ensuring alignment to financial and operational targets
  • Lead decision-making under ambiguity, balancing customer needs with internal constraints to maintain program momentum

Qualifications of the Technical Program Manager:
  • 4+ years of program management experience in a manufacturing, mechanical, or hardware-focused environment leading NPI programs
  • Demonstrated success working in high-change, high-pressure environments with evolving requirements and tight timelines
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, resolve conflict, and drive alignment across customer and internal teams
  • Willingness to travel 50-60% initially
  • Strong technical acumen including the ability to interpret engineering drawings, apply DFM principles, and utilize standard PM and business software tools

Compensation for the Technical Program Manager includes:
  • Salary range: $120,000-$150,000 annually
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k and holiday
