Full Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to lead one of Unify’s product areas. You will work with business customers to set product direction, shipbuilder roadmap, and lead one or more engineering teams to deliver reliable software in a highly regulated environment.

This role requires strong technical proficiency to make credible trade-off decisions with engineering teams while maintaining a clear customer and business focus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the vision and strategy for your product area by defining its direction, purpose, priorities, and measures of success.
  • Maintain a single, prioritized backlog and make transparent trade-offs between new features, quality and compliance work, customer commitments, and technical investments.
  • Lead delivery in partnership with engineering teams, shipping software in small, frequent increments rather than large, infrequent releases.
  • Use a consistent, value-based prioritization approach so that the most valuable work is addressed first and decisions are clear and explainable to partners.
  • Partner across engineering, compose, delivery, commercial, clinical, and scientific functions to translate customer feedback and market insight into clear product requirements.
  • Champion quality and compliance by ensuring that product features meet strict quality, audit, security, and data-integrity standards.
  • Define and monitor product success metrics, including adoption, customer satisfaction, delivery cycle time, quality, and operational performance.
  • Use modern tools and approaches, including responsible application of artificial intelligence, to improve the product and the way the team works.
  • Lead through clarity and influence, empowering teams to own delivery end to end and remain focused on customer outcomes.
  • Navigate ambiguity and facilitate honest, evidence-based trade-off discussions in a complex and regulated environment.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in product management, including experience with technical, platform, API, or software products.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, system build, and software architecture concepts.
  • Experience discussing architecture, APIs, databases, infrastructure, and technical trade-offs directly with engineering teams.
  • Experience managing products involving APIs, integrations, data pipelines, identity, authentication, or similar technical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work under pressure, deliver incrementally, and make evidence-based decisions when demand exceeds capacity.
  • Experience working with agile or Scrum methodologies and related tools, such as Jira, Productboard, or Confluence.
  • Experience using data and analytics to inform product decisions, with tools such as SQL, Amplitude, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong customer leadership skills, including the ability to build trust, create alignment, and lead through influence rather than formal authority.
  • Demonstrated customer focus and ability to ground product decisions in user needs and evidence.
  • Ability to learn quickly and become effective in a complex, regulated domain.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a software engineer, solutions architect, technical consultant, or in a similar technical role.
  • Experience developing or managing products in a regulated environment, such as healthcare, medical technology, financial services, or another compliance-intensive industry.
  • Experience in clinical trials, healthcare, life sciences, or related domains.
  • Experience with multi-customer software-as-a-service platforms or products that integrate with multiple external systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with API design, including REST or GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with machine learning or artificial intelligence products, developer tools, data infrastructure, security, or related technical domains.
  • Experience bringing artificial intelligence features into production responsibly.
  • Master’s degree in a technical field or an MBA.
