Collins Aerospace is seeking a Technical Planning Manager who will lead our Technical Planning organization supporting manufacturing work instruction configuration and execution across Puerto Rico Operations. The selected candidate will drive configuration management activities, support new product introductions and transitions, and collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Facilities to ensure manufacturing readiness and project success. You will champion continuous improvement initiatives, oversee engineering changes and deviations, and help expand our capabilities across electro-mechanical and electronic product families. This position includes leadership responsibilities and team development.
Your mission: to deliver manufacturing excellence by ensuring configuration integrity, supporting new technologies, optimizing business processes, enabling flawless execution across operations while developing talent and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the Technical Planning organization responsible for manufacturing work instruction configuration and process execution.
- Support new product introductions and transitions while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Materials, Quality, and Facilities to achieve project milestones.
- Maintain communication and alignment between Puerto Rico Operations and Business Unit Value Stream Leadership teams.
- Review and implement configuration changes, engineering changes, and deviations to ensure manufacturing readiness and compliance.
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives supporting technology introduction and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement and standard work practices to improve quality, efficiency, and process robustness.
- Lead root cause analysis activities and implement effective corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Support cell design, test integration, and validation activities within aerospace manufacturing operations.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while ensuring on-time execution and achievement of business objectives.
- Develop team capabilities through coaching, talent development, and succession planning initiatives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with cell design, test integration, validation techniques, and implementation of engineering changes and deviations.
- Strong project management skills with PMP certification highly desirable.
- Experience with SAP, Solumina, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
