Job SummaryThe Technical Lead, US Onshore Subsurface is responsible for planning, coordinating, and maturing opportunities to execution ready status in a capital efficient manner, ensuring projects are technically sound to support annual production and revenue targets. Key responsibilities include leading a multidisciplinary technical team (Reservoir Engineering, Geosciences) that interfaces with Land, Drilling, Completions, Performance & Planning, Facilities, Production, and Operations Teams, to drive strategic decisions and operational excellence. Involvement in daily rig line optimization and drilling operations is integral, alongside preparing AFEs, management presentations, and weekly project updates. The position also involves aiding career development and mentorship, and fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture focused on empowerment and technical rigor.

Responsibilities- Lead the value assurance process to ensure all investment opportunities are reviewed for both technical and financial robustness
- Ability to interrogate technical work including reservoir sim, history match and geologic models, DCA, petrophysical analysis, detailed/regional mapping, real-time geosteering
- Support data consolidation/integration for building models and information sharing
- Provide technical assurance and mentorship during quarterly reserve review process, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Work with BD to identify and evaluate opportunities for value creation
- Interface with various functions to optimize field development and well operations
- Collaborate with offset operators and or partners to identify JV and PSA opportunities
- Clearly constructs technical stories and strategies, develops concise supporting presentations, and communicates recommendations to senior executives
- Collaborate on technical discussions, peer reviews, and mentoring.
- Develop organizational talent, lead junior staff in G&G and reservoir engineering.
Qualifications/Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Masters in Geoscience
- Minimum 12 years of related technical focused experience and/or training, with direct Onshore experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary projects/teams while in a technical role
The individual is required to take all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs.
