About the Role

Serve as a senior technical subject matter expert responsible for the evaluation, validation, and qualification of fiber optic technologies, cable systems, and connectivity solutions. Act as a key liaison between engineering organizations, fiber optic manufacturers, suppliers, and testing teams.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as a technical authority on fiber optic cable technologies, connectivity solutions, and infrastructure applications.
  • Review and interpret validation results including IL, RL, Reflectance, OTDR, continuity, polarity, and reliability data.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturers, and testing organizations.
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding product performance, reliability, and deployment readiness.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Develop technical reports, validation summaries, and risk assessments.
What You'll Need
  • Minimum 5 years of fiber optic industry experience; 10+ years preferred.
  • Experience in fiber optic manufacturing, telecommunications infrastructure, ISP/OSP deployment, or related engineering environments.
  • Expertise in ISP and OSP fiber infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of fiber cable construction, installation, splicing, termination, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret IL, RL, Reflectance, OTDR, and reliability test data.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Corning, CommScope, AFL, Sumitomo, Rosenberger, Prysmian, OFS, or similar manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of IEC, TIA/EIA, and Telcordia standards.
  • Experience with MPO/MTP, LC, SC, MMC, and related connector technologies.
  • Experience supporting qualification, validation, reliability, or supplier quality programs.
