Location: Brecksville, OH to start, and transitioning to Wickliffe, OH in 2028.

As Lubrizol approaches its centennial in 2028, our Wickliffe campus will become the unified home of Lubrizol's global headquarters, integrating Lubrizol's Brecksville site capabilities and employees to the Wickliffe campus.
How You'll Make an Impact

The Technical Director, Global Resin Platform and Americas Technical Service leads the global resin technology strategy and the Americas Technical Service organization for the Paints & Coatings Group.

This role is responsible for advancing the global resin platform through innovation, product development, and commercialization while ensuring strong technical support for customers across the Americas. Working closely with Commercial, Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams, the Technical Director translates market needs into differentiated products and solutions that drive growth, profitability, and customer success.

Strategy, Innovation & Platform Leadership:
  • Develop and execute the global resin technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and growth priorities.
  • Lead the resin innovation portfolio, including new product development, platform optimization, sustainability initiatives, and complexity reduction.
  • Identify market trends, technology opportunities, and competitive threats to drive long-term growth and differentiation.
  • Ensure successful commercialization of new technologies through close collaboration with manufacturing, commercial, and product management teams.
  • Champion intellectual property development, including invention disclosures and patents.


Americas Technical Service Leadership:
  • Lead the Americas Technical Service organization, providing technical support, application expertise, and customer-focused solutions.
  • Support key customer projects, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and drive timely resolution of product and application issues.
  • Partner with commercial teams to strengthen customer relationships, support business development, and identify growth opportunities.


People and Organization Leadership:
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing technology and technical service team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and organizational capability building.


Cross-Functional and Business Leadership:
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Product Management, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Regulatory teams to support business objectives.
  • Represent the company in strategic customer engagements, industry events, and external technical forums.
  • Support technology investment decisions, resource prioritization, and alignment of global innovation activities.


Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in coatings, resins, polymers, specialty chemicals, or related industries.
  • Strong expertise in resin chemistry, coatings technologies, product development, and commercialization.
  • Proven leadership experience in R&D, technical service, applications, or technology organizations.
  • Demonstrated success leading innovation programs, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering business results.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
