Electrical Engineer with Project Management:
Item
Services Task - EE Support and Technical Project Management (1 person)
B1
Ability to produce multiple solutions and selection of the lowest cost alternative as per design requirements. Optimize analog and digital circuit design by identifying components, reviewing end-of-life component lifecycles, and conducting technical evaluations and testing. Use expertise in power supplies, microprocessors, microcontrollers, memories, ethernet controllers, peripheral interfaces and displays of industrial products.
B2
Review/compare component specifications between like components from the same and different manufacturers, including specifications of all electrical/electro-mechanical components (purpose of each pin, timing, speed, voltage, and current limits) and effects on circuits.
B3
Review electrical circuit design: evaluate circuits and determine which components can be removed to simplify design. Redesign schematics and layouts using printed circuit board design tool Altium designer.
B4
Trained to utilize schematics design tools, including Altium, Allegro Design Entry, ORCAD, and PCAD and simulations using LT SPICE to assist in cost reduction activities. Use Six Sigma tools, such as Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA), to maintain reliability while designing less expensive products.
B5
Overseeing manufacturing processes, prototype circuit board design and development activities and electrical bill of material (BoM) preparation for printed circuit boards and interact with component vendors to get information on designs, board bring up, functional and system testing.
B6
Gain understanding and familiarization of Bently Nevada products and process requirements to enable the engineer to conduct feasibility analysis on PWA changes and provide design changes and support through release of the product changes.
B7
Follows well defined alternate component qualification process and performs qualification testing following Bently Nevada test methodology such as manufacturing tests, temperature, humidity, GTEM, HALT, and calibration and vibration testing for specific prox. probes, seismic sensors, and enclosures.
B8
Conduct cost comparisons and feasibility studies on mechanical components, such as sheet metal, castings, machined components, standoffs, and electromechanical components to help identify potential MCO projects.
B9
Identify and validate critical measurements and tolerance checks of the new components using Bently Nevada lab equipment (CMM, optical comparators & profile projectors, and gauges). Document design modifications for MCO projects.
B10
Follow proper test methodology utilizing available test equipment such as high vibration tests (seismic lab), temperature and HALT tests, and humidity susceptibility and corrosion resistance tests.
B11
Component database Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) cleanup, engineering document creation and release and parts standardization process involved component optimization (reducing/eliminating electrical components), application requirements, inputs/outputs, and communication protocols.
Item
Services Task -Technical Project Management & Customer Liaison (Same person)
B12
Develop draft schedules, test plans and resources required to complete projects.
B13
Acquire material components and schedule manufacturing builds to evaluate new components/designs.
B14
Drive all assigned productivity projects by bringing in all the stake holders and scheduling updates.
B15
Periodic report out on all active productivity projects supported at by Supplier.
B16
Provides financial summaries for productivity projects and responsible for calculating ROI for each project, including labor and material savings versus the cost of implementing changes.
B17
Assists with compiling technical and business risk assessments.
B18
Review current material costs and identify opportunities for cost savings, using tools to include Should Cost, VAVE, and comparing components from multiple vendors.
B19
Conduct component engineering [review BOMs, RoHS and obsolete component management, technology conversion (thru hole to surface mount device), low-cost form fit functional component identification, technical analysis preparation, evaluating the identified parts and part addition into component database].
B20
Conduct prototype board design and development activities, bill of material preparation (BoM), vendor interaction, component procurement, test setup preparation, component assembly and functional testing.
B21
Develops functional test plans to ensure quality of the final product in harsh environment conditions. Validates design through calculations and functional tests. Ensures compliance with product environments, hazardous area approval standards, safety regulations and product certifications. Provides design data to the Technical Regulations and Standards sections to assist in product certifications.
