Team Lead, Recruitment

Position Summary

The Recruitment Team Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day execution of PTW's recruitment function. This role combines active recruiting with team leadership, ensuring workloads are balanced, hiring timelines are met, processes are followed, and recruiters are supported throughout the full recruitment lifecycle.

Focused on operational delivery rather than strategic planning, the Recruitment Team Lead acts as the primary escalation point for recruitment-related matters while managing their own portfolio of requisitions.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Operations
  • Lead daily recruitment activities across regions, functions, and trades disciplines.
  • Manage a portfolio of critical or high-priority requisitions.
  • Monitor recruitment performance, workloads, hiring timelines, and requisition aging.
  • Allocate resources and adjust recruiter workloads to meet business demands.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with recruitment policies, procedures, and approvals.

Team Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day coaching, guidance, and support to Recruiters.
  • Conduct regular pipeline and workload reviews.
  • Support recruiter onboarding, training, and development.
  • Serve as the first escalation point for recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and consistency across the team(s).
  • Work closely with HR Admins

Hiring Manager Partnership
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring requirements and operational priorities.
  • Support intake meetings, candidate reviews, and hiring recommendations.
  • Provide guidance on recruiting practices, labour market conditions, and candidate availability.
  • Ensure timely communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Guide and support employee redeployment activites acrosss the organization.
  • Drive and coordinate PTW job advertising initiatives to strengthen our recruitment reach, employer brand, and ability to attract qualified talent.
  • Provide labour market intelligence and workforce insights to the Proposal team to support bid development and submission, including labour availability and market conditions.

Administration & Compliance
  • Maintain ATS accuracy, recruitment reporting, and hiring documentation.
  • Support audits, analytics, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure offers, postings, candidate files, and onboarding documentation meet company standards.
  • Promote adherence to employment legislation and company policies.

Candidate Experience
  • Champion a professional and responsive candidate experience.
  • Ensure timely applicant communication and issue resolution.
  • Support recruiters with candidate escalations and employment brand representation.

Leadership Expectations
  • Lead by example as a working recruiter.
  • Drive operational excellence, accountability, and execution.
  • Coach and support recruiters to achieve hiring objectives.
  • Promote consistency, responsiveness, and professionalism.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of recruitment experience in industrial, construction, skilled trades, maintenance, or energy environments.
  • Previous experience leading or coordinating recruitment teams.
  • Success in high-volume recruitment environments.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, interviewing, candidate assessment, and recruitment processes.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment reporting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience recruiting skilled trades, technical, project, and corporate positions.
  • Leadership experience within a multi-location environment.
  • Experience supporting both project-based and permanent workforce hiring.
