Team Lead, MaintenancePosition SummaryThe Team Lead, Maintenance is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians while ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role provides daily leadership, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, develops team capability, drives continuous improvement, and partners with Operations, Engineering, HS&E, and Quality to maximize equipment uptime and support production goals. The Team Lead balances hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, accountability, and execution of the Watlow Business System.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach, develop, and hold accountable a team of Maintenance Technicians.
- Plan and prioritize daily maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies using CMMS.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Partner with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and HS&E to improve equipment reliability and safety.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs including uptime, PM completion, MTTR, and work order backlog.
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvements.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and maintenance documentation.
- Promote Watlow Values, leadership competencies, and continuous improvement.
Leadership Responsibilities- Conduct performance coaching, training, and development.
- Support staffing, onboarding, scheduling, and succession planning.
- Lead daily tier meetings and communicate priorities.
- Ensure compliance with Watlow policies.
Qualifications- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and automation systems.
- Experience with CMMS and Lean/continuous improvement preferred.
Physical RequirementsWork is performed in a manufacturing environment and includes standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed, exposure to industrial noise and temperature variations, and occasional off-shift support.
