Full Job Description
This position reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting, with working level supervision of the Analysts in the Financial Reporting team.

As a key member of the Financial Reporting team, this individual will assist in the coordination and review of financial information and activities that support the communication of accurate and timely financial results of TC Energy and TransCanada PipeLines Limited.

This position provides the unique opportunity to gain insight into all of TC Energy's areas of business and understanding its financial results.

We are looking for someone who can handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines, mentor and coordinate staff, and who is an analytical problem-solver who values collaboration, while demonstrating exemplary customer service.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate and review the compilation of TC Energy's quarterly and annual Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with regulatory and disclosure requirements
  • Coordinate and oversee the compilation of TC Energy's quarterly reporting documents and Annual Report, ensuring consistency across financial statements, MD&A, supporting disclosures and related reporting materials
  • Review standalone legal entity financial statements and other ad hoc internal and external financial statements, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with applicable accounting and reporting requirements
  • Lead the review of consolidated internal financial performance reporting, including analysis of operating results, key business and period-over-period variances to support executive decision-making and external disclosures
  • Coordinate and review the quarterly and annual Statistics Canada reports
  • Review of the annual Registered Pension Plan financial statements
  • Act as one of the primary contacts in Financial Reporting for internal stakeholders, including Investor Relations, Legal, Finance and Treasury and external business partners
  • Monitor emerging accounting, regulatory, and disclosure developments and assess their impact on financial reporting processes and disclosures
  • Collaborate with the team to identify continual improvement opportunities, analyze process flows and streamline reporting processes
  • Supervise and mentor a small team of Analysts and Interns
  • Special projects and ad hoc analysis as required


Minimum Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting-related experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven leader with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
  • Keen attention to detail and drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong financial analysis, reporting and communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines with multiple priorities and minimal supervision
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, with ability to optimize Excel models
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or other recognized accounting standards
  • Experience working with SAP, BPC, Workiva, SharePoint, Teams and/or Power BI considered an asset
