Full Job Description
TEAM LEAD

POSITION SUMMARY

The Team Lead supports the Case Management team and collaborates with all Case Managers (CM) via conducting Second-Level Review of Reports of Investigation (ROI) and working individually with each CM as mentors. This role provides leadership with hands-on operational responsibilities, ensuring that CMs perform effectively while maintaining Federal Investigative Standards and Trusted Workforce 2.0 requirements. You will oversee reporting, audits, compliance, and other process-related tasks, while also contributing directly to production to meet team and contract expectations.

Hourly Rate: Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, education, and contract requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide first line supervision to a team of Case Reviewers
  • Monitor cases assigned to unit to ensure compliance with delivery due dates and track submission of investigative leads. Check for quality and take necessary actions to complete cases
  • Prioritize cases where noteworthy or derogatory information is developed
  • Conduct second level review of team cases
  • Complete annual evaluations for team employees
  • Provide advice and guidance to field and post-field staff as well as training and mentoring of new team members
  • Provide counseling and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Maintain regular communications with team members to insure consistency
  • Timesheet approval to include leave management
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Thorough understanding of Federal Investigative Standards and Trusted Workforce 2.0
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism
  • High computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), database software, e-mail, Internet, IRMA
  • Experience in background investigations and/or knowledge of the Federal Investigative Standards (FIS) and Trusted Workforce 2.0; must have experience working on the DHS contract.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and guiding teams in collaborative environments.
  • Skilled at mediating conflicts and maintaining a productive work environment.
  • Manages/analyzes operational reports, production metrics, and compliance audits.
  • Strong analytical skills; identifies process improvements.
  • Develops SOPs, process guides, and operational manuals.
  • Presents operational or performance statistics to leadership.
