Teaching Hospitalist Physician

Hartford Hospital, the flagship hospital of Hartford HealthCare, is an 867-bed academic medical center and one of Connecticut's leading teaching hospitals. Hartford Hospital is a clinical training site for University of Connecticut (UConn) residents and offers physicians the opportunity to practice in a highly collaborative environment while helping educate the next generation of physicians.
We are seeking a Teaching Hospitalist Physician to join our Hospital Medicine team. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who enjoys caring for complex hospitalized patients and is passionate about teaching and developing the next generation of physicians.
The Opportunity
As a Teaching Hospitalist, you will provide high-quality inpatient care while working closely with UConn residents and medical students as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
You will:
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care to adult patients with a broad range of medical conditions.
  • Round with and supervise residents while providing clinical teaching and mentorship.
  • Participate in resident education, case discussions and bedside teaching.
  • Collaborate with specialists, advanced practice providers, nurses and other members of the care team.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Participate in the academic and educational activities of the Department of Medicine.
  • Help create a supportive learning environment for residents and students.
