Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum 1 year recent Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) required.
• Well-developed patient assessment and intervention skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessment and care in the Medical Surgical Department.
• Perform nursing interventions based on patient needs and outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using Cerner and Powerchart.
• Function efficiently in a demanding healthcare environment, managing competing priorities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Demonstrate a commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
