Job Duties: This role is responsible for maintaining strict safety and security protocols to protect staff, inmates, and visitors across institutional operations. The position ensures full compliance with legal and regulatory standards, including the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and American Correctional Association (ACA) guidelines. Duties include evaluating and supervising upper management, security personnel, and administrative staff to ensure consistent performance and accountability. The role also develops, implements, and enforces institutional policies that align with state and federal laws. Additionally, it requires reviewing operational reports, internal audits, and inmate grievances to identify risks, address deficiencies, and promote a secure and compliant correctional environment.

You possess strong networking skills to forge lasting trust with unit administrators, correctional staff and other divisions to meet the mission of TDCJ.
You are able to communicate the needs of the units to leadership, listen to the concerns of advocacy groups, and respond to their needs and of the inmates incarcerated.

You have skill in translating reports/data for unit administration.
