  • Serve as a trusted change agent for Partners, Managers, and engagement teams during tool and process transitions
  • Train team members on tax technology, automation, and standardization
  • Simplify complex technology concepts into practical use cases for tax professionals
  • Gather feedback from engagement teams to enhance tools and processes
  • Collaborate with Quality & Risk Management to uphold standards and manage risk
  • Work with Technology, Transformation, and Enablement teams on firmwide initiatives
  • Monitor and report on the impact of technology initiatives on adoption and efficiency

Full Job Description
The Tax Technology Product Lead is a high-impact, people-facing role responsible for accelerating adoption of tax technology, automation, and standardized workflows across the Tax practice. This role sits at the intersection of tax expertise, technology enablement, and change management, helping engagement teams work more efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and support adoption and implementation of tax technologies across assigned offices or practice groups, including platforms such as K1X, tax workflow tools, ai solutions, analytics/dashboards, automations and data management solutions, and standardized workpapers
  • Partner directly with engagement teams to identify opportunities where technology can reduce manual effort, improve quality, and drive consistency
  • Act as a local product champion, helping teams transition from legacy approaches to standardized, technology-enabled workflows
  • Serve as a trusted change agent for Partners, Managers, and engagement teams as new tools and processes are introduced
  • Deliver and reinforce training related to tax technology, automation, and standardization
  • Translate complex technology into clear, practical, real-world use cases that resonate with tax professionals
  • Collect real-time feedback from engagement teams and translate insights into actionable recommendations for improving tools, processes, and enablement programs
  • Partner closely with Quality & Risk Management on initiatives tied to standardization, quality, and risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with Tax Technology, Transformation, and Enablement teams to support firmwide priorities
  • Track and report on adoption, utilization, and efficiency outcomes associated with tax technology initiatives
  • Support leadership in demonstrating ROI and business impact of technology investments


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting tax (preferably within a large or mid-sized firm)
  • Experience supporting process improvement, standardization, or automation initiatives
  • Solid understanding of tax compliance and reporting processes
  • Working knowledge of tax software and automation tools (e.g., RPA, AI, data analytics)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfort engaging directly with Partners and senior leaders
  • Creative, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to connect multiple tools or ideas to solve practical problems


Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Experience working with IT, engineering, or technology teams on tax initiatives
  • Familiarity with project coordination tools or methodologies
  • Background in tax training, tax quality, tax operations, or tax transformation
  • Experience with tax and analytics platforms such as CCH Access, GoSystems, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate), Alteryx, Tableau, and advanced Excel; programming exposure a plus


Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $122,200-$143,800. For New York residents, the compensation range for this position: $116,900-$137,500. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
