As an Indirect Tax Technology Manager, you will serve as a key technology and business partner supporting indirect tax systems, ERP deployments, and tax transformation initiatives across the United States and the broader Americas region.

This role will lead the delivery of indirect tax technology solutions that enable accurate tax determination, compliance, reporting, and operational effectiveness. You will help translate indirect tax requirements into sustainable system solutions, oversee tax technology deployments, and support the ongoing management of the Vertex tax engine and related technologies.

You will partner closely with Tax, Finance, IT, ERP Deployment Teams, Business Stakeholders, External Advisors, and Vendors to ensure tax requirements are effectively embedded into enterprise systems, business processes, and transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will combine tax technology expertise with strong project leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills to support both ongoing operations and major technology deployments.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, solutions-oriented, and comfortable navigating complex environments where tax, technology, business processes, controls, and compliance requirements intersect.

What You Will Do

Indirect Tax Technology & Vertex Leadership

  • Own the configuration, implementation, and ongoing management of the US Vertex tax engine.
  • Maintain tax determination logic that supports approved tax requirements and business processes.
  • Translate indirect tax requirements into system configurations, testing activities, controls, and business solutions.
  • Support compliance objectives by maintaining controls, documentation, and supporting evidence aligned to internal standards.
  • Partner with tax advisors and business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions support evolving tax requirements.

ERP Deployments & System Integration

  • Lead indirect tax technology activities associated with ERP implementations, upgrades, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Support tax requirements within SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and other enterprise technology environments.
  • Oversee integrations between tax engines, ERP systems, invoicing platforms, finance systems, and reporting tools.
  • Monitor and support data flows between business systems and tax determination solutions.
  • Collaborate with deployment teams, IT, Finance, Tax, and external partners to support successful solution delivery.

Project Leadership & Governance

  • Develop and manage workstream plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and key project deliverables.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across business, technology, tax, and vendor organizations.
  • Provide status updates and communicate project risks, issues, and recommendations.
  • Lead solution reviews, testing activities, implementation planning, post-launch support, and transition into ongoing operational support.
  • Balance business requirements, controls, standardization, maintainability, and long-term technology strategy.

Tax Technology Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Support automation, process improvement, and AI-enabled initiatives that improve indirect tax operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax technology capabilities, data quality, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Support documentation, testing, issue resolution, training, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Contribute to broader tax technology priorities and transformation initiatives across the organization.

What You Have

Indirect Tax & Business Process Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of indirect tax concepts, including Sales and Use Tax and related tax determination requirements.
  • Ability to translate tax requirements into practical business processes, controls, and technology solutions.
  • Understanding of end-to-end business processes that impact tax determination, compliance, invoicing, and reporting.

Tax Technology Expertise

  • Experience supporting tax engines, tax determination solutions, or indirect tax technology platforms.
  • Ability to configure, test, troubleshoot, and support tax technology solutions.
  • Understanding of ERP environments and tax system integrations.
  • Experience supporting data flows, controls, reporting, and compliance requirements across connected business systems.

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Ability to lead technology workstreams within ERP deployments, upgrades, or transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to manage risks, dependencies, stakeholders, documentation, and delivery activities.
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution capabilities.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accountability.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days per week

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
