Full Job Description
Purvis Gray is seeking a skilled Tax Senior to join our Business Tax Services team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and meaningful tax engagements for privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals. You'll contribute to both compliance and advisory work while supporting Managers and Partners in leading client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

What You'll Do
  • Assist Managers and Partners in planning, executing, and finalizing tax engagements
  • Prepare and review individuals (Form 1040 and 1041), Exempt Orgs (Form 990) partnerships (Form 1065), and corporations (Form 1120 and 1120-S)
  • Contribute to tax research and identify planning opportunities
  • Perform tax compliance work with attention to accuracy and timeliness
  • Communicate with clients and help manage engagement expectations
  • Support the training, supervision, and development of junior staff
  • Maintain current knowledge of tax laws and regulations relevant to assigned industries

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation or JD/LLM a plus CPA license (or CPA eligibility and active pursuit)
  • Minimum 4+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and partnership/corporate tax regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and deliver high-quality work
  • Experience preparing or reviewing Forms 1065 and/or 1120
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills

Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to private company tax compliance and consulting
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead junior staff
  • Familiarity with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills and client service orientation
