Tax Senior We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Tax Senior to join our tax team. The Tax Senior completes semi-complex tax assignments and moves toward developing leadership skills. Seniors are expected to exercise independent judgment and discretion when preparing tax returns based on their knowledge of accounting rules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintains an understanding of current tax laws, regulations, and developments
- Preparation of complex, individual, partnership, fiduciary and other tax returns
- Supervises associates on preparation work
- Demonstrates commitment to begin practice development
- Prepares clear, accurate, and well-supported workpapers and documentation
- Performs other accounting services and duties as assigned
- Takes ownership of assigned work and manage responsibilities from initial assignment through completion
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Ability to use and train others on complex tax systems including CCH Axcess (CCH Tax, CCH Planning, Pro Systems-Fixed Assets, Tvalue), Caseware, and Copilot.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and professionals at all levels of the firm
- Proficient in tax and accounting research, including knowledge of firm reference resources
- Positive attitude, strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent degree as determined by the management committee, required
- Master's degree in accounting or taxation preferred
- 2 to 4 years experience in public accounting
- CPA license preferred; must be close and actively working towards license
Standard Work Hours- Typical Monday - Friday business week, evenings and weekends as needed, primarily during busy season (from February through April & August through October)
- Travel required to both local office and out-of-state offices as needed
