Are you an experienced tax professional ready to expand your leadership impact? As a Senior Tax Manager at Pinion, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients, leading complex tax engagements while helping develop the next generation of professionals. This is an opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with strategic leadership in a collaborative environment that values innovation, growth, and exceptional client service.

In this role, you'll partner with businesses, owners, and individuals to provide proactive tax planning, compliance oversight, and strategic guidance that drives meaningful results. You'll play a critical role in strengthening client relationships, developing team members, and influencing the continued growth of our tax practice.

This role is based in North Platte, Nebraska, with flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Review and oversee the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as the lead advisor on complex tax engagements for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other flow-through entities.
  • Analyze client data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams, articulating complex tax concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop managers, senior associates, and associates, providing technical guidance and career development support.
  • Stay informed on current tax issues and agricultural industry trends to provide proactive advice.


What You'll Need for This Position

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 8+ years of public accounting experience.
  • CPA license.

Technical Expertise
  • Proven background in managing complex tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Experience in tax return preparation and review across multiple entity types.
  • Tax project leadership/management and supervisory experience.

Core Competencies
  • Digital fluency, including ability to learn and navigate CCH Axcess Tax.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify patterns and issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building ability.

Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% annually.

When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $135,000 - $150,000.
