PSE's Office of Controller team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Tax Senior Accountant position!

Job Description

The Tax Senior Accountant performs complex accounting and analysis functions, under general direction. They also will participate in daily and monthly accounting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Additionally, the Tax Senior Accountant ensures SOX procedures and controls are being complied with and working according to documentation. They will ensure customer satisfaction and continual improvement of processes.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participates in the preparation and filing of tax returns.

  • Complies with internal controls and actively updates SOX 404 procedures.
  • May act as the primary point of contact between the company and the taxing authority.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to support tax compliance and ongoing business activities.
  • Keeps up-to-date on current tax law changes, pronouncements, and issues.
  • Perform and enhance tax policies, procedures, controls, and documentation.
  • Responds to requests received from management and other departments and represents the department at company meetings
  • Complies with internal controls and actively updates and tests SOX 404 procedures.
  • Provides training and guidance to less experienced staff and cross-trains with other staff members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 3+ years of directly relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical application
  • Strong ability to effectively analyze and report on financial information
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Strong PC skills (including Excel, Word, Access)


Desired Qualifications

  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant
  • Master of Taxation or other advanced degree
  • Utility taxation experience
  • Experience with OneSource/GoSystem RS, Power BI, Alteryx, RIA Checkpoint


Additional Information

The pay range for this position is $82,000.00 - $136,300.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
