Your role:
- Review of a wide range of personal and corporate tax engagements.
- Provide daily guidance/support, coaching and development of firm staff with respect to tax knowledge and matters.
- Research of tax issues and preparation of memoranda.
- Participate in special tax engagements.
- Provide client tax planning services.
- Preparation and presentation of technical sessions to firm staff.
- Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships and identify client service opportunities.
What you bring to the table:
- Successful completion of the Common Final Evaluation (CFE).
- Successful completion of/or in the process of completing the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and/or Master of Taxation Course.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with a tax specialty.
- Robust technical knowledge of Canadian tax related issues and of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software.
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management and organizational skills.
- Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and demonstrated ability to work with other's effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to provide value-added service to clients and strong understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment including related deadlines. Ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines.
- Experience working with owner managed businesses considered an asset.
