Role Summary

The Tax Manager will manage the tax planning, reporting, and administration for the organization. This position will be responsible for interpreting tax regulations, completing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal tax regulations. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

TAX MANAGEMENT FAMILY - CORE
  • Prepares (or assists external tax return preparer with) federal, state, local and special tax returns by collecting, analyzing, and formatting financial information.
  • Complies with federal, state, local and other government requirements by studying regulations, enforcing adherence, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Researches and interprets the United States tax code.
  • Communicates with attorneys, tax specialists and others to ensure timely tax and other reporting.
  • Manages tax audits and inquiries from various jurisdictions within the United States.
  • Performs tax analysis and research related to tax planning initiatives and audit activities.
  • Performs audits on internal controls for accuracy.
  • Tracks the organization's income, sales/use, and property taxes, and reconciles tax data on financial statements.
  • Executes various tax projects.
  • Performs research and prepares technical tax memorandums.
  • Researches complex tax law implications and advises management.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (Required)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered.


Experience

  • 5+ years tax accounting experience (Required)
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience (Preferred)
  • Experience with S Corporation and Partnership tax returns (Preferred)


Working Environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Typically travel is not required
  • Normal office environment
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen
  • Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Reaching above Shoulder
