We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Experienced Tax Manager to join the SALT team in our Internal Finance Department.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered remote which means it does not require job duties to be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. However, as a remote employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for internal work, team meetings or trainings.

This position will support our Finance Tax Team.The right candidate will have a growth mindset and look for ways to expand their knowledge within the tax space associated with their specialized services.

They will also be eager to collaborate on thought leadership, webinars, and seminars while remaining results focused on assisting in achieving our wide-ranging business goals.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

As a member of the State & Local Finance Tax team, you will report to and receive instruction from Directors and/or Partners of the Firm. The primary responsibility will be to provide income tax compliance and consulting services involving audit controversy, due diligence, tax projections, research and more. This will include broad exposure to our Income Tax Compliance Practice. Additionally, this role will:
  • Enhance your project and task management skills.
  • Allow for personal and professional development (support and mentoring from experienced CPAs in the accounting, auditing, and tax areas of the firm)
  • Give you the opportunity to work collaboratively with the broader CohnReznick team in delivering the highest quality service to the firm.
  • Allow for the ability to interact directly with high level Finance personnel on a regular basis to better understand and serve their needs

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Tax is a plus.
  • CPA, CMA, CMI, JD, or EA is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years income tax compliance experience; primarily involving partnership return preparation and review with an emphasis on state income tax.
  • Prior involvement and working knowledge of multi-state partnership return preparation and review preferred
  • Proficiency in income tax compliance software, preferably OneSource Income Tax, GoSystems and CCH Axcess.
  • Solid experience in researching and addressing multi-state income tax matters.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding relationships
  • Strong leadership, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Proven competence with MS Office, including advanced Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of tax research software, including CCH and RIA Checkpoint
  • Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Travel required - approximately 10%

In Maryland, the salary range for a Tax Manager is $120,000 to $170,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
