Tax Director to join our team!
Directors are responsible to Partners. Responsibilities of Directors include those of a Senior Manager, with expanded accountability for client relationships, practice leadership, and business development. Directors participate in managing segments, niches, or service areas of the Firm and are viewed as leaders in their areas of focus, both internally and externally.
Directors maintain key relationships with client executives and serve as trusted advisors on complex matters. They actively participate in the generation of new business and contribute to Firm strategy, quality control, and risk management. Directors demonstrate advanced technical expertise, sound professional judgment, and strong leadership skills, and they interact with clients and staff in a manner similar to Partners.
What your day looks like:- Provides advanced technical leadership and oversight across complex tax engagements and client relationships.
- Performs final-level and quality reviews of complex tax returns and related workpapers, as assigned.
- Advises clients on complex tax planning, compliance, and issue-resolution matters.
- Serves as a senior technical and escalation resource to Senior Managers and Managers on complex or high-risk tax issues.
- Ensures consistent application of tax laws, regulations, and Firm standards across assigned client portfolios.
- Provides leadership and oversight across client portfolios, engagements, and service areas, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to Firm standards.
- Oversees Senior Managers, Managers, and engagement teams, providing guidance on complex engagements, client, staffing, and resource matters.
- Serves as a senior escalation point for high-risk, sensitive, or complex client and engagement issues.
- Performs final-level quality and risk reviews of engagement deliverables, as assigned.
- Maintains final responsibility to clients for the services provided by the Firm on assigned relationships.
- Leads and participates in practice, niche, or service-area management activities.
- Actively participates in the development of Firm strategy, strategic initiatives, and operational improvement efforts.
- Drives business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, participating in proposals, and expanding client relationships.
- Exercises financial accountability for assigned client portfolios, including billing, realization, and collection.
- Mentors and develops Senior Managers, Managers, and other team members.
- Participates as needed in administrative and leadership activities of the Firm.
- Maintains firm confidentiality.
- Follows firm policies by conforming to procedures outlined in the Associate Handbook.
- Develops an understanding of the firm's vision, plan, and strategies and their role in achieving them.
- Works sufficient hours needed in order to complete projects assigned.
What you need for this role:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 10+ years of public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA designation presumptively mandatory, but alternative credentials and experience considered.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, and Experience preferred in firm-supported software applications.
- Strong organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage senior-level client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop Senior Managers, Managers, and engagement teams.
- Visible involvement in business, professional, or niche communities.
- Strong negotiation, business development, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to remain current through continuing education and professional development.
