Full Job Description

Lineage is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Indirect Tax to help build and scale a technology forward indirect tax function that supports our rapid growth across products, channels, and geographies. This role anchors recurring indirect tax compliance, accounting, and analytics while modernizing how indirect tax work is structured, automated, and documented.
You will play a critical role in identifying tax exposure, managing audits, improving processes, and partnering across the organization to ensure Lineage maintains a best in class indirect tax environment.

Key Responsibilities

Reverse Audits & Exposure Analysis

  • Prepare and execute reverse audits to identify refund opportunities, tax overpayments, and areas of potential exposure.
  • Conduct detailed sales and use tax exposure analyses to quantify potential liabilities when refund claims are filed.
  • Partner with IT teams to design, test, and implement electronic extraction tools that automate data pulls and streamline audit workflows.
  • Work closely with local warehouse teams to organize and execute predominant use studies, including data collection, documentation, and validation of exempt usage.
  • Evaluate data integrity, reconcile variances, and prepare supporting documentation for refund claims and audit defense.

Vendor & Customer Coordination

  • Organize, track, and request waivers of rights from vendors and customers as required for refund claims or audit defense.
  • Maintain communication logs and ensure timely follow‑up to secure required documentation.

Audit Management

  • Assist with or lead state and local tax audits, including data gathering, documentation preparation, issue resolution, and negotiation support.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with auditors and internal stakeholders.

Compliance & Accounting

  • Complete recurring accounting activities, including:
    • Monthly accruals for sales/use tax
    • Account reconciliations for indirect tax accounts
    • Property tax filings and reconciliations
  • Support multi‑jurisdictional personal property tax filings.

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
  • Strengthen internal controls around indirect tax compliance, documentation, and reporting.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with Finance, AP, AR, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure tax requirements are embedded in business processes.
  • Deliver presentations and training on tax-related matters to internal stakeholders.

Tax Research & Technical Support

  • Conduct tax research to support technical positions, business transactions, and audit defense.
  • Draft memos, summaries, and documentation to support tax conclusions.

Strategic & Ad Hoc Projects

  • Contribute to departmental and company-wide initiatives, including system enhancements, data governance, and automation projects.
  • Assist with other ad hoc tax projects, compliance initiatives, and special analyses as needed.

Qualifications
