Talent Bridge: Nuclear Scientist

Location: Research Engineering Campus

Schedule: 9X80's with every other Friday off

Program Duration: 12 months, with a potential 1-year extension.

Idaho National Laboratory seeks Nuclear Scientists to advance the future of nuclear energy through innovative research and the development of next-generation reactor systems. In this role, you will apply advanced nuclear engineering principles, theories, and design methodologies to develop, validate, and document complex engineering designs that meet rigorous technical, regulatory, and safety requirements.
You will perform integrated analyses that support storage, disposal, and facility safety objectives, and you will defend analytical approaches and results during formal reviews. The role includes developing and refining physics-based mathematical models and analysis methods to support experimental and programmatic needs.
As part of INL's scientific community, you will prepare high-quality technical reports and peer-reviewed publications, represent programs through technical presentations and conference participation, and contribute to ongoing professional development activities that strengthen the laboratory's research capabilities.

Required:
  • To qualify, you must have completed your Bachelor's degree in physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics or a closely related field within the last 12 months from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in theoretical nuclear modeling.

Physical Requirements:

Job Information:

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Nuclear Scientist to work on our Reactor Technology & Integration team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research Engineering Campus with every other Friday off.

The pay range for this position is $83,964 - $90,948. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
